Dispositifs poétiques d’enquête. Parcours d’Emmanuel Hocquard

Le présent article se conçoit comme un parcours poétique dont le tracé traverse trois temps répondant à trois objectifs distincts. Le premier concerne le déplacement d’une controverse au sujet de l’art contemporain dans le domaine de la littérature ; le deuxième expose certains usages de la notion de dispositif dans le discours des études littéraires en proposant l’amalgame dispositifs poétiques d’enquête ; enfin, le troisième et dernier temps opère une synthèse de ce qui précède grâce à la figure de l’écrivain Emmanuel Hocquard. Le carrefour où se rencontrent ces différents objectifs prend la forme d’une hypothèse envers l’écriture qui peut s’énoncer ainsi : écrire revient à se déplacer dans le langage ordinaire, à parcourir des espaces informés par des gestes sémiotiques de tout ordre. La disposition du texte répond à cette logique hypothétique par l’insertion de fragments issus de certains livres d’Hocquard. Ceux-ci supportent la démarche – troublent/refocalisent l’attention – et mènent vers l’aboutissement, le repos de ce texte : la fin de sa piste d’investigation.

The present article is conceived as a poetic itinerary, the course of which takes us through three stages, with three distinct objectives. The first concerns the displacement of a controversy about contemporary art into the realm of literature; the second exposes certain uses of the notion of dispositif in the discourse of literary studies, proposing the amalgam of dispositifs poétiques d’enquête; finally, the third and last stage synthesises the foregoing through the figure of the writer Emmanuel Hocquard. The crossroads where these different objectives meet takes the form of a hypothesis about writing that can be stated as follows: writing means moving through ordinary language, traversing spaces informed by semiotic gestures of all kinds. The layout of the text responds to this hypothetical logic by inserting fragments from some of Hocquard’s books. These support the approach – disturbing/refocusing attention – and lead to the text’s culmination, its resting place: the end of its trail of investigation.
