Les technologies numériques au cœur du processus créatif. L’émergence d’un hyperstyle

À la portée de tout utilisateur comme des artistes, les technologies du numérique facilitent la reproductibilité des supports comme des gestes. Dans ce contexte d’(auto)production, la notion de style mérite sans aucun doute d’être redéfinie dans la relation qu’entretient l’artiste avec les outils numériques qui s’interposent entre le donné et les intentions artistiques. Dans quelle mesure les technologies employées orientent-elles la création ou influent-elles sur le processus créatif d’un artiste ? Comment se donner les moyens de créer sans réduire le rôle de l’artiste à la simple manipulation de ces outils partagés ? À la fois objet et sujet, l’image numérique donne aussi bien à voir et à performer. Dans ce régime d’expression conceptuel, le processus créatif participe nécessairement d’une distance réflexive sur les moyens employés.

Within the reach of all users and artists, digital technologies facilitate the reproducibility of media and gestures. In this context of (self)production, the notion of style undoubtedly deserves to be redefined in the relationship that the artist maintains with the digital tools that come between the given and the artistic intentions. To what extent do the technologies used direct the creation or influence the creative process of an artist ? How can we give ourselves the means to create without reducing the role of the artist to the simple manipulation of these shared tools ? Both object and subject, the digital image is both seen and performed. In this regime of conceptual expression, the creative process necessarily participates in a reflective distance on the means employed.
