Couverture

Returning with a critical point of view on the controversy that resulted from the installation in Paris of Jeff Koons' Bouquet of Tulips, this text is an opportunity to present a theory of the modern monument. Faced with the impossibility of a monument since modernity and faced with the monument's need for memory, the notion of antimonument seems more and more apt to describe monumental works of art. The kitschy singularity of the work of Jeff Koons confronted with the seriousness of the monument leads the author to take a new look at the tulips affair.

Keywords: avant-garde — positivity / negativity — radical modernism — antimonument
