La cohérence visuelle et formelle des tubes pornographiques

À partir de l’identification de quelques problèmes et contradictions au sein de l’approche culturaliste qui a récemment renouvelé les études sur la pornographie, le présent article propose une étude formelle des sites de vidéos pornographiques à l’aune de la sérialité. Il s’agit de décrire la cohérence et le fonctionnement global d’un ensemble d’unités à première vue disparates. L’hypothèse est que cette cohérence de fragments détachés d’une narration globale repose sur la répétition sérielle d’images. La catégorie Asian de la pornographie gay est ici considérée comme un exemple symptomatique.

After discussing the contradictions and difficulties of the new cultural approach to porn studies, this paper analyzes the seriality of the pornographic websites’ videos from a formal perspective. It describes the global functioning of what appears at first to be a collection of heterogeneous units and demonstrates that even though the fragments are not part of a story, the serial repetition of images creates coherence between them. The Asian category of gay pornography is here used as a paradigmatic example.
