Distinction between eroticism and pornography is usually made according to intensity, obviousness and finality matters. Eroticism is teasing desire by a symbolised sexual relationship whereas pornography shows explicit arrangements of sexual intercourse for commercial purposes. The spectator is just a peeping tom, and not a performer, looking for an absolute sight of the sexual intercourse. We won’t use the word obscene, indicating a pejorative judgment of value, but instead will speak of obviousness: what is unashamedly shown. Pornographic images display openly sexual exposure, without any moderation. We’ll study pornography in a historical context, as the satisfaction of a desire for a global and holistic voyeurism. So this implies a plan of action on a large scale, that only the industry can manage, including the picture industry of the Web. This way, pornographic images satisfy an inclination to curiosity. This pair of notions, ostentation/curiosity, forms up what we call a desire for obviousness and knowledge through the well-balanced effort of throwing the light, or denying any shadow, in the name of pure evidence.
